  Vuk has a simple plan for life. Eat something, make it through the night, and not die. Every day, Bosana takes that plan as a personal insult.

• Kreslav

  Kreslav is the sort of man who would sell rain to a thirsty cloud, then take offence when the cloud asked for a receipt.

• Barnikh

  This small furry creature is convinced that he is still the king of Bosana. The problem is that nobody believes him.

• Mitra

  Mitra is Iskra's older brother, a woodcutter, and a man who takes up more space than he intends to.

• Mistislav

  Mistislav keeps an inn, guards books, and knows more than is healthy in a country where knowledge is often punished with work.

• Srećko

  Srećko only wants to produce a serious story. The trouble is that serious stories tend to catch fire, collapse, flee, or explode in front of him.

• Krutoglav

  They say he can sniff out hidden ducats better than a hunting dog. If you buried money beneath the house, the stable, or your mother-in-law, Krutoglav will knock on your door sooner or later.
